My report is about the company we visited.
The name is Goss International. Goss International is established in Boxmeer, The Netherlands.
Goss International is a global leader in web offset printing solutions, with a complete product range of newspaper and commercial press systems, as well as mailroom and post press equipment to worldwide markets.

Of the visit
The aim of our investigation was that we get enough information about the company so that we can make our report of at least 15 pages. But also an aim was that we know more about the company it self. And I think we get enough information to make this report.
Operating procedure:
Wednesday the 17e of November we were invited at the company Goss Contiweb. After a tour through Goss Contiweb we asked our questions to Evert an important employee of Goss Contiweb.
Choice of the company:
We couldn’t choose the company ourselves, because the teacher “Hans Steenman” did that. He did that because, he knows things better and he knows where the IBS students were doing their work placement.
When I heard that our company was Goss Contiweb and that Ilhan was our IBS student, I was happy because I know who Ilhan is, so it was more comfortable for me to go to the company.

The aims of businesses are goals that a business wants to achieve. If a company wants to achieve there aim, they need objectives. Objectives are goals to achieve your aim
Aims:
The aim of Goss Contiweb is to have global innovation and design skills plus the knowledge of the markets, customers and their business needs, to create true added-value and benefit for the customers. And the most important aim is to remain the market leader.
Objectives:
Goss is creating Press Efficiency Improvement Program surround equipment and human resources with focused objectives:
1. Newsprint Waste Reduction
2. Press Productivity Improvement
3. Print Quality Improvement
4. Improved reliability
This program is carried out in two steps:
1. Evaluate press performance and to produce immediate improvements and next steps.
2. Commit to and monitor factual improvements in Waste, Productivity and Quality.
Goss guarantees that these programs will provide measurable short-term and long-term benefits well in excess of the initial investment.

Hundreds of millions of animals die every year from animal testing in the United States. Innocent animals are used everyday in laboratories for biology advancements, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing. They are used to provide information to make better products that are safe for human use. Although animal experimentation has some benefits, the negatives outweigh the positives. Animal testing is killing off innocent beings for the possible human benefit, and with modern technology, there are alternative ways to test products that leave animals unharmed.
I am ready to begin an educational experience at Olin Business School that will provide me with the business knowledge I lack at this point in my career in order to shape my future business career and succeed in the financial field. I am confident that my professional experiences reinforced by the personal dedication, hard work and business ethics I have built in the last five years have refined me to seek a superior education from Olin. Scientists follow the “three R’s”. The “three R’s” are replacement, reduction, and refinement. Scientists are trying to substitute experimental animals with other more ethical replacements (Monamy 5). Some alternatives are EPISKIN or EpiDerm, which are reconstructed models of the human epidermis that can be used in skin testing and experimentation (niehs). Another alternative product is artificial fake human eyes. Human tissues and cells can be developed and studied. Also, they have made the chicken eye test in which eyes are taken from slaughterhouses and used to identify chemical damage. Fortunately, the eyes are not useful and trashed at the slaughterhouses so scientists would only be helping the corporations out. There is also the Ames test which uses certain bacteria strains to perceive genetic changes rather than using animals’ genes (aavs). The second “r” is reduction, which means to reduce the number of animals being used. Scientists are continually repeating the same work over and over. There is too much unnecessary and repeated research being performed (Sherry 8). The third and final “r” is refinement, which means refinement of field and laboratory methods to lessen insensitivity and produce more valuable results (Monamy 5). Company goal is to educate us on the many options that will assist us in realizing our full potential and take to action to create the results we desire. From communications to goal setting and time management, we can all become more effective in our work and relationships.
