The Cold War was a time between 1947 to 1991 in which tensions between two of the largest superpowers of the world were at an all time high: United State of America and the Soviet Union. The war never had a true battlefield between the two, but traces of each the superpowers could be found in many of the wars at the time directly or indirectly like: the Vietnam War, Korean War, and etc. Though the feud didn’t always happen on the battleground. The Soviet Union and United States faced off in expanding their power of their technology and economy at the time, which led to events like the Space Race, Nuclear Arms Race, and even globalization in the countries. Without all the investment in the advancement in technology America possibly could have been without the Internet and possibly its position as the most advanced country in the world right now. Now, globalization does have its down parts, but America has benefited greatly from being a part of the world as a whole and allowing it provide many of the products of today to be able to be sold here and sold at their current prices. Globalization also has allowed for America to develop partnership with other countries even if we aren 't on the greatest of terms like China and etc. Then, though not directly it also provided American citizens to help make their government into provide equal human rights to all through its the effects of Civil Right. Finally, the Cold War helped American government as a whole to become more open to its people and share more information with its people. The Cold War may have lead to many bad events and death of some Americans, but it did help America’s culture and government become what it is today. Though it may not be perfect, but it is most definitely a much better than it was back before
