A Captivating Need to Stop Getting Flu Shots Medicine has made a prodigious impact to the world. It has been a safe haven for many lives throughout the years, even up until now. Yet people have become so reliant to vaccinations and medicine that they don’t realize what else it could do, other than preventing colds and the flu. The flu shot in particular has been helpful but also harmful to people. Throughout the years, medicine has had a drastic change. People need to realize the damage that flu shots and medicine can cause. There is another way to prevent the flu without getting the flu shot, and that is by increasing your nutrition and Vitamin D level. Studies show that increasing your Vitamin D level is more effective than taking the flu shot. Mark Hyman, a family physician, medical director, medical contributor, and medical editor, supports the increase of Vitamin D levels and simply states, “When you have adequate vitamin D levels, you can dramatically reduce your risk of flu.” ( “The Flu Shot: Helpful or Harmful” ) The talk about Vitamin D levels is self-explanatory. Having Vitamin D can reduce risks of getting the flu. Although Vitamin D seems to be one of the most effective nutrients that can prevent the flu, there are many other options to keep the immune system healthy. Humans need to support their immune system when they need it most, instead of having to depend on needles to prevent any colds or the flu. People should have food as their medicine. Such as drinking plenty of fluids, especially warmer fluids, trying a daily saline flush, avoiding the simple sugars as much as possible, having protein and adding garlic, onions, ginger, oregano, and turmeric to your meals, eating multiple servings of fruits and vegetables, getting sufficient sleep and consistently exercising.
