Nowadays, women perform stunningly in any field. Never before they had as many opportunities to pursue careers and passions in any form they desire as they have today. However, the more demanding and successful the women become when raising their opinion on gender equality, the more irresponsible they turn out to be regarding their motherhood duties. The feminist movement has negatively affected the women’s perception of motherhood. For instance, new technology today provides women with an opportunity to manipulate their fertility in ways that could not have been imagined. They are so driven by the focus on providing their growing daughters with the same rights as men have; hence, so little value is placed on the role of a mother. Also, while promoting professional progression as a marker of success, they leave the concept of homemaking and the importance of motherhood duties under the shade of devaluation as well. Consequently, young generation regards to the significance of a mother’s role at home as an outdated way of thinking. To illustrate, in her speech «We should all be feminists», Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in turn, suggests that the parents should focus on raising the boys differently because «[parents] define masculinity in a very narrow way» (Adichie 2012) and thus limit the development of the boys’ ego. Meanwhile, the daughters grow with the mindset ‘furnished’ by the claims of gender equality. From the very beginning, they see the world with the humanist outlook, referring to one’s abilities and opinions without gender divisions. Such approach to children upbringing allows the mothers to encourage self-confidence, strong self-defense characteristics, and the sense of independence in the children’s, mainly girls’, personality. Furthermore, feminist mothers emphasize gender neutrality in household responsibilities, hence giving a chance to their sons to cook dinner, and empower daughters to develop their dream jobs.
