In recent years, more and more social networking websites are designed and developed to facilitate human communication and development of self-image. People can use their smartphones to get access to some social networking applications. Those technologies enable the human to communicate instantly almost everywhere in the world and add special effects to the sharing photos enhance the emotion they want to express. These change the ways they express themselves and satisfy their needs. According to Internet Live Stats, a website reporting the internet user lively, it estimates there will be about 46.1% of the world population could get access to the internet in the home by any devices on July 1, 2016 (Internet Live Stats, n.d.). It indicates that almost half of the people are able to get access to the internet which includes social networking websites. These social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ which are highly accessible to everyone in the world with computers or smartphones. The high accessibility of those social networking websites helps the development of expressive individualism as people are easier to express themselves instantly without geographical barrages. People could easily share their feeling and experience instantly by posting a photo or change their status in almost everywhere in the world. In the concept of expressive individualism, people have the right to satisfy oneself by expression and realization of one’s core identity (Dr. Zhang, 2016). By sharing the feeling and experience of oneself to gain a recognition of their friends. According to the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, love and belonging needs are the third important needs for a human through his life (Maslow, 1943). It indicates that family and friendship are crucial to individualism. An individualism could satisfy his social needs by making friends oversea through the internet and gaining the feeling of belonging and love from the reaction of their friends on the uploaded posts or photos with their friends on the social networking website. The high accessibility of the social networking website helps to improve the development of the expressive individualism and further satisfy the social needs of an individual, lead to a well-being mental health and a good and fulfilling
