As the time passes, technology is expanding and developing many creative ideas. Unlike past, nowadays we have computers, TVs, internet, and many inventions that contain bad and good effects on us. Children used to interact with society by hanging out and playing sports with each other, but now as we can see a big percentage of children who play video games for many hours daily. Addiction controls life of people, there is addiction to drugs, cigarettes, alcohol or gambling, and there are some forms of addiction associated with modern life, such as Internet and video games. Most people think that video games are harmful and waste of time.
Violence in video games can have unhealthy and potentially dangerous effects on young children and adolescents that spend hours a day tapping away at a joy stick with various buttons. Although, the effects of media on behavior are related to the socialism pattern and role taking opportunities they offer, and not only do to more exposure to violent media. Video game violence leads to more aggressive behavior in young children and adolescent. “New research suggests that teenagers who play violent video games are more likely to cheat and experience increased aggression, and have reduced self-control.” (“Video Game Playing and Aggression”, Web). This is due to a games violent content and moral disengagement causes less self-restraint.
Therefore, parents today have more to be concerned with than most, because they are the ones buying their children these realistic, violent games. Ultimately, what is at stake here is which type of kids are playing these video games. Although some may believe it's the aggression linked long-term wise with video games, while others disagree that it is aggressiveness is only a short-term effect with violent video games. I believe the main cause is mental illnesses, and violent video games is just a factor that can influence someone to commit such acts. What do you believe?

They will always see games as a burden that ruins society. But to the ones who do see that game companies are trying, hopefully you will rethink playing games or having your kids play
Parents should be the overall deciders of what they want their children playing, watching, and doing. Being left with the right to raise their child in their fashion, parents should find out what the child is playing and limit or restrict them, so then parents can’t blame anything on video games if their kid commits a violent act. With video games as the new part of our pop culture, many adults find it hard to understand why children would want to spend so much time playing with these “idiot boxes”. With this lack of understanding comes fear, for, as humans, we fear what we do not know. So all that will come of this cycle is people will continue to play video games, something new in our pop culture will come and replace video games, and it will be radical for our pop culture and taken on as the root of all evil due to lack of understanding.
