Recommended: Censorship and education

Why do people ban books? They limit freedoms and hints at the fact that adults don’t trust kids and/or teenagers to make decisions on their own. Do you want to be one of the schools that do this? Animal Farm is a very good book and definitely adds an interest of that time period. Animal Farm is also a good discussion topic. I feel as though taking that away would hurt classroom discussions in language arts as well as social studies. Animal Farm was indeed banned and challenged several times. Animal Farm was banned in United Arab Emirates for showing pigs acting like humans and drinking alcohol which is against Islam. Animal Farm is also banned in North Korea and censored in Vietnam. Many communist countries banned the book soon after
