There are many ways for how to promote positive behaviour with children and young people. It is important that children grow up to be good adults and therefore they have to learn from a young age how to behave in public.
As a teacher it is important to be a role model to the children. Those children see you every day for a couple of hours and they see what you are doing. Therefore it is important to behave correctly.
The children see everything you are doing and are likely to copy you. The strength of this is, that the children can see where they would like to stand in the future. A teacher can show them what it means to be an adult and that they have to work hard in school to achieve that. A weakness would be that children really copy everything. …show more content…

The children will see it and will also copy it. Therefore as a teacher it is vital to try your best the whole time and have in mind that you are role models.
Listening is also an important tool that promotes positive behaviour. It doesn’t matter if it is a child or an adult. You should always listen to them without interrupting or pre- judging them. It is a powerful tool that makes the children feel that there is someone who listens to them. The strength of listening is that you get information from the children or adult. With that you can work on the next step. The weakness is that you often don’t have the time to listen to everyone. A school day only has a couple of hours and normally you are very busy. Therefore it is vital to take some time where you can listen to others.
Keeping your word is another important tool as this shows the child that you have listened and you took action to solve the problem or task. The strength is, that you know the needs of the children and they accept and trust you when you are listening. The weakness is that you can’t always listen to all the long stories from each child.
