Explain How Batman Has Changed Throughout The 80's

Batman’s character has changed throughout the 70s, 80s, and 2000s while reflecting the culture of the generations in several different ways. Batman went from a dark and brooding character who transitioned to an even darker and destructive one. These generations of Batman show cast what’s going on in the world, such as political problems, social issues, and terrorism. Batman becomes more ominous as the world changes. His character has not only portrayed society around him but, has also sent different messages which have brought people aware to some of the issues around them that they otherwise would have overlooked. The 70s is when Batman finally started to break away from Adam West’s version. His character is for the first time in a while brought back to his dark origins. This becomes a new hit which, DC uses to compete with Marvel. Written by Dennis O’Neil (b.1939) and Neal Adams (b. 1941) this 70s version of Batman is beginning to get grimmer, he’s no longer the campy crusader of the 60s now he is becoming more realistic, facing real world problems and tough decisions. But that all changed when a different type of director by the name of Tim Burton became inspired by Frank Miller’s comics and decided to relaunch the whole Batman franchise. The story became darker than ever shown by the deaths of numerous people such as when the Joker gassed the museum and parade. This has tie ins with the wars and disputes with the middle east creating a more destructive outlook of the world in film.
