What do YOU think would be the consequences of always following the rules? In Animal Farm by:George Orwell Boxer always follows the rules and there can good and bad outcomes. For Mollie she can be her true self without being forced to do anything. When it comes to conformity like Boxer you have to always listen and do what you are told by facing the consequences of your actions. But being a nonconformist like Mollie you will never have to face your problems. You can do whatever you want but you are going to get judge by it. Boxer is a conformist because he depends on Napoleon. For example, when Boxer wakes up in the morning, he never question himself what does Boxer want. Boxer split hoof was long time in healing.They had started the rebuilding of the windmill the day after the celebrations has ended. “Boxer refused to take even a day off work, and made it a point of honor not to let it be seen he was.”(Orwell) This shows that eventually Boxer is still continuously working on the windmill.This leads to the point where Boxer ends up dying later on. On the other hand, Molly doesn’t conform. Mollie refused to conform because she wanted to be more like herself. For example, when Mollie ask a question it is revealing that in order to conform there has to be something in it for her. “And shall i be allowed to wear ribbons in my mane?” (Orwell)This shows that Mollie is being herself. Mollie is not afraid to ask questions. Mollie was being herself which led her to be judged by other animals. For example, when the animals saw Mollie she was holding the blue piece of ribbon admiring herself. The animal thought she was being foolish. “The others reproached her sharply,and they went outside"(Orwell). This shows that the animals judge Mollie for what she does even though she is being herself. She is expressing the way she feel is right to
