“Growing up means being honest about what you want, need, feel and who you are (Epiphany).” The preceding quote is stating that you control what happens in your life, and who you become. It’s your job to take responsibility for what happens in your life as you get older. One thing that has become clear those of you edging towards graduation is that life is becoming complicated. Adulthood can be scary for many of you. If you aren’t ready, have strength, or skills you won’t make it. Juniors can alleviate fears about 12th grade and beyond by having an understanding of the adult responsibilities they are going to face, and how to prepare for them.

The big thing everyone worries about is how they are going to pay for the college now that they have finally chosen or have in mind. There are two ways to pay for college, scholarships or student loans. Scholarships are helpful they can give you a full ride to the college of your choice or provide a start up. There are some for everything: left-hand people, African American, twins, double jointed, blue eyes, talents, and etc. In an article, it gives you some start up information all about scholarships. It includes, “ To avoid stress and frustration you can create a scholarship search plan by creating a resume of all your list and talents. You can use them to see which scholarships to look for since you have the skill or description to qualify for them. Then it talks about how you should use family, counselors, and teachers to help you search for them so you have help and they have prior knowledge about scholarships. They also have your best interest at heart. Then it goes on to talk about how general scholarship websites plus specific detail of what type of scholarship you need can increase the chances of you finding the scholarship you need. They also recommend searching for local scholarships since you have a better chance of getting them. Ex. Tennessee offers everyone a hope scholarship that pays for your freshman year of college as long as you enrol at least 6 hours in the Fall and spring, have at least 2.75 GPA . Another thing you can do is to try winning scholarship essays that not only help to spark your creativity,but they give colleges the chance to get a feel of what type of person you are. They also recommend that you apply early and all year long. If you tend to wait you have lessened your chances of getting a scholarship.
