A. When I first clicked on the website, the color stood out to me. As I went on to each page of the website, I was amazed how much information was on the website. It is very informative. The header on each page was very detail. You could click on a page by looking at the header know exactly what you were going to read about. The website is very supportive. There are tabs where you can find people within local range of you that could be a help to you. The tab, NAMI Leaders was an eye opener for me. It showed me that there are a lot of people out there offering help. The idea that if you look, you will definitely find the answer was showing on this website. Tardive Dyskinesia is caused by and is a side effect of using antipsychotic medications. TD affects the nervous system from the long term usage of some medications. It can cause physical symptoms like rapid eye blinking, jaw clenching, and sticking out of the tongue. The website stated that the risk rates is 20-50%. The studies that provided this information was done amongst different age groups, and it also showed that the prevalence increases with age. The website also provides information about treatment, even though, TD is caused by the usage of medications that is treating mental illness, there is not A FDA-approved medications for the treatment purpose of TD. This information was very informative to me because I didn’t know Tardive Dyskinesia even existed. I always thought that the medicine for mental illness was helpful but harsh but didn’t know that it was harmful enough to cause more problems.
