Extraterrestrial Life

Alien life can be described as life that does does not originate from this earth, from the simplest bacteria-like organisms to beings even more complex than ourselves.

Early philosophers had always believed that earth was the centre of the universe but with the invention of the telescope came the realization that the Earth is only a small and insignificant part of the universe, the questions rose "Could there be life outside of Earth?".

The earliest known believer of the idea of extraterrestrial life was from an Italian philosopher named Giordano Bruno during the 16th century. He wrote that other worlds "have no less virtue nor a nature different to that of our Earth" and, like Earth, "contain animals and inhabitants" . The speculation of extraterrestrial life increased even more during the 19th century after the observation of "martian canals" on the planet of Mars, these canals were thought to be the work of an ancient civilazation. However in 1984 a U.S. astronomer named William Wallace Campbell proved that oxygen and water was not present in the atmosphere and in 1877 advanced telescopes proved that these canals were optical illusion, which ended the idea of martian canals and life on Mars. The controversy of extraterrestrial life rose even farther after an airborne object crashed in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. The airborne object was said to be a top secret U.S military Air Force surveillance balloon, however many skeptics claimed the object was a spacecraft carrying extraterrestrial life.

There are several crucial geophysical, astrophysical, and geochemical requirements for life as we know it to exist on another planet.

Astronomers believe that in order for any life form to exist on another plane...

His team reported that the light propelled him into the air and into the spacecraft, Travis was nowhere to be found for five days.
