On a daily basis, we come in contact with individuals that we have to communicate with, wither it be for work purposes, educational purposes, or social practices. As active humans we cannot escape the idea of socializing or communication, therefor; we make it a daily routine who we communicate with, how we communicate with them, what we listen to and how we listen it. With this routine habits are formed, some are strengths but others are weaknesses that diminish the communication quality. As an Organizational Communication Major, it is even more important for me to recognize my communication strengths and weaknesses, as I go out in the world and become employed my career depends on my ability to communicate. It is an essential requirement for life. Behaviors and communications are qualities that inherent and learnt. Being in the prestigious profession of dental hygiene, self reflecting on my communication skills will give me a self realization of my strengths and weakness that is required to build up a clientele harmony.
During my interviews for my communication assignment I found an array of answers. Some were very direct and I knew exactly what was being said, and the rest were left up to my interpretation. I chose to ask 5 different people so that I could hit every level in my life to fully understand what my strengths are.
