They are Expensive
Owning a horse is very fun and exciting, but they are really expensive. Most people have always wanted a horse, but have never been around horses often, do not realize how expensive they can actually be. When it comes to buying the horse, it depends who you get it from and what breed it is. Some horses are not expensive but some are thousands of dollars. Not only do you have to pay for the horse, you also have to pay for all the equipment needed for a horse. That person would also have to pay for the feed and the deworming medicine for the horse. If a person does not own a farm or any land, they will have to pay for hay for the horse in the winter. If the horse gets hurt, needs any surgeries or shots, that person would have to pay for a vet and they can get pricy. One other thing someone would have to pay for would be getting the horses’ hooves trimmed by the farrier.

All horses are different no matter if they have the same DNA or not, they are all different. If someone see one horse do something it doesn’t necessary mean a different horse will do the same thing. For example I can sit directly under my horse and she won’t step on me, kick me, or do anything that could cause me harm. My horse is like this but not all horses are. Some horses you can’t even go behind without getting kicked. All horses have the same bones and muscles, but they do not all have the same shape of body, each horse has a different build. You have to go ride your horse at least 4 times a week, you practice in the wind, rain, snow, when it’s hot out, and event when it is freezing cold.

Grand champion! I was riding Fancy, a paint horse, at the Dallas County Fair in the Horsemanship class. In this class, I had to complete a pattern and it was judged on how well each horse and rider completed the pattern. The judge felt that Fancy and I performed best and awarded me with a big purple ribbon and a trophy with a horse on top. At the end of the fair, all of the grand champions were announced before the races. That was the final reward for successfully showing a horse in competitions.
The big difference is the canter. The western horse is staying collected, but the English horse is striding out as long as the horse can go. Once in awhile you will see a great all around horse, but you also notice they are usually older. The older the horse, the more training and practice in each event it will usually have.
Training a horse is very hard work, the steps involved are very time consuming. Not every horse is the same, some may be smarter than others.
