Green buildings need an approach including consideration towards health and wellbeing of the occupants in every aspects of the build projects, not only for the individual apartment unit but for the entire building, based on a wider context about the environment and the community around. This matter can be a huge approach which need an integrated thinking for the architects, designers, developers and government who is responsible in the community planning (Plass N 2007). Even though we are still in early stage, building a sustainable building nowadays is an establish concept with increasing rate of demand in most countries where it is supported by government in Europe, America, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea. These government have been promoted by their respective Green Building Councils. In a rate where ages is threatened by the climate nowadays, there is an increasing demand for energy and resource efficient building, but there is also a need to build a healthy and comfortable homes that is not affected by undue emissions of harmful substances (Yu CWF 2010), glare (PR 2010) or insufficient lighting (Lim HS 2010), noise (Han MH 2010), hot and cold climate (Daghigh R 2009), where occupants can actually feel safe, can interact with each other freely and can build hope for our future. ...faction. The aim of this study is to test a statement, (1) green building create more comfortable space (2) better comfort will guide to a higher overall satisfaction. This statement will be test with methods of understanding the IEQ in a green building and how it influence the comfort and satisfaction perception of the occupants. Green building in this research is a building that situated in the vicinity of a city in Malaysia, where Malaysia is famous for typical tropical climate. The variable of the climate in Malaysia is not based on the temperature or air pressure but rainfall. In general, the climate in Malaysia can be describe where its coastal plain temperature averaging 28°C. With this type of climate, it will be a unique opportunity for this type of study to see the manner of the IEQ of green buildings in Malaysia react to their occupant's level of comfort.
Green building has come forth over the past decade as a positive movement to produce high-performance, energy-efficient structures that improve comfort and health for resident, meanwhile, minimizing environmental impacts. Nevertheless, a common sense that green features is expensive and not suitable for affordable housing. Recent studies are showed that green buildings have a modest initial cost premium, but the long-term benefits far exceed the additional capital costs. For this report, I will introduce a financial analysis -Net Present Value (NPV), and discuss the impacts of NPV analysis for green affordable housing.

The First basic principle of feng shui is human are affected by their surrounding. People are connected to the environment in ecological term. Despite the fact, human live is fill with physical, mental health, personal and professional relationship, home and work performance which effected by the position of buildings, views, landscaping, color, lighting, shapes of structures, and even furniture arrangement. Ancient feng shui master would analyze and interpret feng shui by identifying configuration of lakes, stream, rivers and the meaning of mountain shapes. In advanced feng shui, it clarifies how the shape of house or hill, bed or desk position, road or river direction, building or home decoration, until the color of the leaf. The third principle of feng shui is a form of literal metaphysics that emerges through mixture of Chinese philosophy, folk cures, religion and early science. In order to create living environments that replicate harmony of nature, it needed understanding of how ch’I (natural energy) works, and human nature. Ultimately, feng shui is used to improve human ch’I by adjusting, enhancing and balancing environmental ch’i. The development of feng shui design has various type of practice because influenced by cultures, science, and technology for thousand years since feng shui was emerged.
The lighting of a hospital setting is important because it provides the patient with natural light that supports the patient in recovery. Natural light has implications of not only improving patients’ well-being, but also improving hospital staff performance. Improving healthcare provider working conditions can lead to better healthcare and quicker recovery. Nature plays a vital role in environmental design. The hospital setting, despite being a place of healing, can be a dreary place that can be perceived as a place that holds sickness.

Sustainable design seeks to reduce negative impacts on the environment, the health and comfort of building occupants, thereby improving building performance. The basic objects of sustainability are to reduce consumption of non-renewable resources, minimal waste, and create healthy, productive environments (“Sustainable Design”). Focusing primarily on the sustainable design principles, there are five, including: low-impact materials, energy efficiency, quality and durability, design for reuse and recycling, and renewability. As sustainability appears to become the necessary trend in architecture, the question concerning the cost versus outcome of “going green” really an investment or a waste of time and money comes to mind. The Benefits of Greening a City Sustainable development is a major world issue in recent development. In the following part, the essay is divided into three major parts of the sustainable ways in different aspects. Firstly, I will give you a brief insight in urban planning. Secondly, transportation policy and planning will be discussed. At last, I may analyze the design in sustainable housing. The highlights of these three aspects would build a better understanding in the possible effects of sustainable development and arouse public awareness on the natural environment. Before discuss how the sustainable development can be made, the definition should be emphasized first.
Constructing ‘green cities’ using the appropriate off-the-grid techniques would be a solution between human-environmental interactions. Off-the-grid methods uses little or without reliance on services but instead, uses schemes and technologies of alternative energy systems that uses renewable energy such as solar panels and wind turbines. Off-the-grid constructions tend to be costly mainly due to its upfront cost, nevertheless, in most cases, it would be cost-effective in spite of the minor maintenance cost and would also be a solution to some of the ecological concerns. Through understanding the environment, architects could ideally use the concept of eco-cities to minimise the carbon emissions and also consider self-sufficiency to resolve the issues between the production and the zero-emissions requirement.
