Interior design is a complicated profession. It is sometimes referred to as interior architecture and often confused with interior decorating. It involves the design, organization and planning of an interior structure rather than just refinishing and furnishing existing interior spaces. It involves managing a business, hopefully meeting the desires of the client and delivering to them an interior environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There is a lot more to interior design than first meets the eye.

Residential interior design involves dealing with home owners normally on an available budget. Some interior designers specialize in working on bathrooms, kitchens, living areas or even bedrooms. Others work in the larger and lucrative commercial interior design market. According to Lee W. Waldrep (2010), author of the book Becoming an Architect: A Guide to Careers in Design, an architect is an imaginative person who designs a wide spectrum of structures for buildings (Waldrep, 2010, p 2). These structures must meet safety requirements in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. Architects must compete with other architects to attract clients by presenting designs. This process generally rests on building a good reputation as an architect. Because of the nature and the large amounts of time spent on designing, architects must work long hours when their skill is required during different stages of construction.
The sustainable interior design has a different main guideline; before esthetics, there is ethics. It has as main objective the healthy, the beneficial or harmful for the health of the people who live in the homes and to preserve the natural environment that surrounds it.
Italian art and culture changed numerous times throughout history, bringing about some of the world’s most unique and beautiful design concepts. While many marvel at the beauty of magnificent architecture, one-of-a-kind paintings, and breathtaking sculptures, the interiors of these buildings were just as remarkable. Rebirth of classical architecture became prominent along with the notion of an ideal city, where proportions were of the upmost importance. Many early interior architects used patterns and colors, along with strategically placed furniture, to create rooms of unity and proportion. With the architectural rediscovery of classical design, artisans and designers of the time were called upon to create interiors that met those needs.
Think about the things that make a home look nice. Think about the specific components that pull the whole place together. The paint or wallpaper on the walls, the hardwood or carpet on the floor, the furniture, and even the paintings or decoration on the walls. All of these important characteristics make up interior design. Interior design has been around for as long as the very first homes were built. But, what many people don’t know about are the continuous changes in interior design throughout history. From the looks of the early 17th century home, or the introduction to neoclassicism in the 18th century, to the move towards modernism in the 1900s..Interior design is an ever changing feature.
For long time, art and design came to gather and everybody mistakenly thought design is for decoration. Now a day, it is completely acceptable for everyone that design has found its current place between all humanity and sciences’ field.

Architectural engineers help plan how a building is constructed so that it will look and function the way it was designed. Their work includes preparing building design and construction documents, cost estimating and construction-related projects. Architectural engineers should be creative, inquisitive, analytical, and detail-oriented. They should be able to work as part of a team and be able to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
The work of an interior designer requires a natural skill to work with people and to decipher what a client desires. "The designer's job is to evaluate, plan, and design the interior areas of residential, commercial, and industrial places." (Careers in Focus: Design.) A few simple jobs consist of helping clients to select fixtures and furniture, supervising the coordination of colors and materials, obtaining estimates and costs within the client?s budget, and overseeing the execution and installation of the project. Some very important details designers must be aware of are the architectural requirements, space planning, and the function or purpose of the environment.
Interior design is one of the most important professions. When thinking of design and architecture industry, it is necessary to keep in mind that the professionals emphasis on matters of everyday life when commencing a project. Important sectors of interior design consist of: residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education and corporate designs. Thus, the field deals with numerous factors and affects almost everyone in some way. Design is goal-oriented– it strives to achieve a certain purpose. An essential goal of interior design is to create functional spaces that convey a specific mood for an audience using design elements, thus outlining a design for communities versus individuals.
The profession of architecture, the possible career as an architect, taking steps to gain a position and education as well as the set growth and prospects of this profession. According to Lee W. However, the number of architects depends on the volume of construction, and with the construction industry being sensitive to changes in the economy, poor economics could result in layoffs. On the other hand, architects can find work through self-employment, developing graphic design, interior design, product specialties, and the construction of museums, and display firms. Also, many architects “are employed in government agencies such as the Departments of Defense, Interior, and Housing and Urban Development, and the General Services Administration” (Careers in Focus: Architecture and Building 8,12). Architecture has many positive effects and promising outlooks in society, which makes it a great career to pursue.
All together the career of becoming an interior designer is a career that I could see myself pursuing because it has many interest that I would like to explore and also it is a career that I see as a great beginning for the future of my adult life into becoming a more better and skilled designer whether it’s an interior designer or fashion designer or graphic designer.
The generally accepted role and work of an architect is to strive to satisfy the aspirations of a client for building projects employing design and aesthetic principles to meet all functional, financial and technical requirements; that
