Nowadays, the renewable energy sources are identified as a green, efficient and free available electrical power generation sources of the world. Due to the gradual warming of the Earth and the global energy consumption issues, in the most countries the renewable energy sources are replaced with the conventional power plants. Typically the renewable energy sources are connected to the National Power Grid and located near the power load consumption units. This means that the renewable energy sources at the small scale as the Distributed Generations connect to different parts of the distribution network. Due to development of Distributed Generations connection to the power grid, the necessity to create a smart grid to control, management and supervision …show more content…

Solar energy, Hydropower, Wind Power and Wave Power are the most renewable energies that are not regularly available for this period of time. So the output power of the renewable sources of these energies is not stable. To coordinate the power generation and power load consumption balance different approaches such as installation of reserve sources and demand side management methods are suggested. In addition, the novelty of the methods presents a demand side management approach in the Smart Grids. A smart grid is a system which includes a variety of operational and energy measures including smart meters, smart appliances, renewable energy resources, and energy efficiency resources. Electronic power conditioning and control of the production and distribution of electricity are important aspects of the smart grid …show more content…

The proposed research aims is presenting a demand side management algorithm with considering different power system disturbances in the smart grids. The power system disturbances in electrical power system could have different definitions. Voltage interruption, voltage sag, voltage swell, voltage surge and voltage distortion are power system disturbances that effect on the power system quality and cause power mismatch. In addition, the climate changes affect on the renewable energy values that cause unstable output power generation. In these states, the power consumption loads are in critical condition. To present a comprehensive demand side response, different strategies based on the smart grid standards could be present. First, the power loads at the disturbing time could supply by the storage devices. In this state, the loads based on the maximum necessity of the consumer are prioritized. Second, improving the demand side management strategy based on the heuristic algorithms in smart grids. The novelty of the research is programmed a demand side in the smart grids in presence of renewable energy sources such as Photovoltaic and Wind Turbine at the power system probable disturbance time. According to the previous literatures, the demand side management by considering different probable disturbances in daily power load supplying
