Feminism is a movement for women to be equal to men. (“Feminism”). The main topics argued in this paper is the natural weakness of women, male birth control, and Women Against Feminism. First wave feminism is when women want basic rights like the right to vote which I believe is okay unlike the modern feminists. “The debate about feminism and its relevance to women’s concerns in the twenty-first century has not only made it a target for criticism but has also divided the movement itself.” (“Feminism”). It would be harder for women to become equal “because only women can bear children, she argues, they will always be relegated to secondary status.”(“Feminism”). The author, Emily Shire, is a feminist and speaks for the feminists and how they aren’t actually as critical as the media observes. This article speaks that everyone misunderstands feminism and believes that women are trying to dominate men. Based on this article feminists are not hostile and are not trying to be better than men. Emily believes that the Women Against Feminism don’t know what they are fighting for, “Women against feminism don’t know what feminism really is.” (Shire), “There is no question that Women Against Feminism is utterly and completely misguided in its understanding of what feminism is.” (Shire). Also with what the media thinks feminism it can affect others, “Think of all the female celebrities who have gone out of their way to declare themselves not feminists and their reasons for doing so. Katy Perry had previously said, “I am not feminist, but I do believe in the power of women.”. (Shire). Shire believes that there is an in between instead of being on one side,“People do not realize you can be a feminist and pro-life. You can be a feminist and a stay-at-home mom. You can be a feminist and disagree with the birth control mandate of Obamacare.”
