After reading a story in my local newspaper about a Spanish teacher taking inappropriate pictures of females in the school he taught at, I must ask the question how can every educational environment assure all students are safe from any violation as this at all times? What can the educational system, law enforcement, as well as stronger legislation do to protect our children against abuse and/ or negligence. As the article reports, this teacher was caught with inappropriate pictures of females on his iPad. He was immediately suspended, although with pay pending investigation, was charged with 14 counts of invasion of privacy and put in jail with a 10,000-bail sentence (Kohut, 2018). Unfortunately, this is not an isolated situation. In fact,

Engineering is one of the largest, most diverse and progressive professions. It is a highly respected profession. It guards public health and safety and is always in the best interest of society by attempting to improve the quality of life. With all professions, there are always circumstances where the image could be jeopardized. From the code of ethics, I will be discussing and analyzing article 77-7-IV. This article states: “A practitioner shall not attempt to gain an advantage over other practitioners by paying or accepting commission in securing professional engineering work”1. In other words this article relates to the term known as bribery, which is the act of persuasion which results in an advantage to one party, typically illegally or dishonestly.
Ethics is a branch of philosophy that deals with the moral principles and values that govern our behavior as human beings. It is important in the human experience that we are able to grasp the idea of our own ethical code in order to become the most sensible human beings. But in that process, can ethics be taught to us? Or later in a person’s life, can he or she teach ethics the way they learned it? It is a unique and challenging concept because it is difficult to attempt to answer that question objectively because everybody has his or her own sense of morality. And at the same time, another person could have a completely different set of morals. Depending on the state of the person’s life and how they have morally developed vary from one human
Ethics are basically the procedures of personal acts that are based on ideas or a person, about what is ethically good or bad and they are range of statistics that involves these statistics. So basically, ethics are rules a person sets for himself or herself about what is ethically right or wrong. They involve legal issues and if something is illegal, it does not always mean that it is unethical, consequently if something is ethical, it does not mean it is legal.
The term “ethics” refers to an external set of rules that have been established by an institution or organization, for example, a university, and the members are expected to follow them. On the other hand, integrity refers to an individuals’ internal set of principles that guides their actions and behavior (Czimbal and Brooks n.p.). As a rule, people are usually rewarded when they follow ethical codes of conduct by an external committee or board that monitors their behavior. For a person of high integrity, the benefits are usually intrinsic. Moreover, such individuals always make the right decisions even when they are not being watched. Therefore, this feature of character is often influenced by a person’s upbringing. In

The goal of high school is to educate and prepare students for a successful future, but how can a students future be successful if they are doing drugs? Research and statistics have shown that drug use and dropout rates go hand in hand. The annual dropout rate in the United States is extremely high. One in seven students will drop out of high school before receiving their diploma and over thirty percent of these dropouts use drugs illegally. Many high schools around the nation...

Through culture development different disciplines have come up to try improve the human mind. Some of these disciplines include engineering design, accounting and commerce among many others. Lack of respect or knowledge in a certain culture is very critical and often results to either loss of life of those involved or disagreements especially in the engineering aspect where communication is very key. What is the universally accepted basis of right and wrong? That is one difficult question because the concept of right and wrong is actually relative. Ethical norms have developed over time and across cultures as people of goodwill consider human relationships and how human beings act when they are at their best. However, the meaning of ethics is still hard to pin down. Philosophically, ethics is an attempt to answer Socrates' question of how one should live. This is a general question which, for any individual, could translate to "How should I live?" Not all answers to this question are of the ethical type as one may say he or she would lead a self-indulgent life. Ethics tries to answer "How should one live?" given that we already live in a society.
