Knowing the effects alcohol has on our body is important to know before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. One of the main problems is over compensation of driving ability once the alcohol has been ingested another major problem is minors driving under the influence. The main reason this topic means so much to me is because one of my friends was killed in a drunken driving accident during my junior year of high school. Since the accident, my views on drunk driving and alcohol in general have decreased due to all the problems that come from it.

Oklahoma has come up with a set of guidelines to constitute how much you are able to drink and still able to drive after. The amount of alcohol consumed cannot be more than one drink of any type of beverage, for example one beer or shot of liquor is the most anyone should have to stay under the limit if driving. The state of Oklahoma says that your “blood alcohol level must be 0.08% or below to be considered legally safe to drive”. ...t really hurts me to see people still drink and drive after all the pain and loss our town has gone through because of it, I still think that the best way to show support against drinking and driving is word of mouth. Reverse peer pressure is something I have thought of; telling your friends before they make the decision that you think they are an idiot or something might entice them to stop. I always like to tell people and post on social media websites when a major holiday is coming up that if anyone needs a sober driver at any time of the day to be sure and call me or another one of my friends, and that we would be more than happy to come get you. Knowing that drinking and driving will never be stopped as long as alcohol is still made is a scary fact, but our ability as a community to help prevent it and control the problem better is very important for our future.
