Recommended: How to train a puppy essay

Most people will agree that puppies are cute and cuddly, and can also be gross at times. You know what I am talking about - those times when your little darling leaves you a nice puddle of urine or better yet, a pile of dog poo on your carpet. There is no reason to feel guilty - it is hard at times to love your puppy after they have used your home as a bathroom.

No one wants to own a disobedient puppy or dog by choice. It is that knowledge that made me decide to write this article. My goal here is to give you a few tools that will allow you to rid yourself from having to live with your puppy's inappropriate bathroom behavior forever. Just imagine how happy your will be once your puppy learns to relieve themselves in the right place at the right time. Then it was discovered that dogs had a natural instinct to keeping their living area clean. They would do anything in an effort to avoid pooping and peeing in their living quarters. This avoidance gives your puppy the necessary bowel and bladder control that is required in order to housebreak your pet.

Once you begin defining your house breaking ritual utilizing the crate, your puppy will begin to view the crate as a place to sleep and relax. I realize that I may be getting a little ahead of myself. Just keep in mind that housebreaking a puppy will be a lot easier if you use a crate as part of your training.

Housebreaking A Puppy Tip: A baby gate will also do the trick for keeping your puppy safe and avoid any accidents when you cannot watch your puppy.

When the puppies are 7 weeks old, they should be with their mother and their littermates. The puppies are still learning at 7 weeks old and they miss out.
