Having a writing portfolio can show the reader your accomplishments, skills, experiences, achievements, life experiences, and the qualities you have. The advantages of having a portfolio are that it puts you over other job applicants who might have the education and experience, but no description of the style and quality of their work. I prefer having a digital portfolio. The advantages of having a digital portfolio is that more employers can see that you are looking for a job and they could see if you have the skills for the job. The only disadvantage is that if you accidentally write an error, it would show the employer that you are not skilled at writing. The digital portfolio …show more content…

A profile is a great way to stand out in applying for a job many others are. The portfolio shows future employers what your can bring to their business.
In this day of age everything is digital. I personally would prefer a digital portfolio over a tradition one because of the accessibility of the portfolio. Like all great thing, technology is not perfect. I could see where a traditional portfolio would be the better choice but it isn't the most efficient.
One big advantage is the accessibility of the portfolio. This alone would show your audience your skills with technology. Writing and Technology go hand in hand today. Digital portfolios would show how experienced your writing and typing are. Presentation is a big thing when it comes to giving your portfolio to someone. Presentation is everything. It may look good but how you explain and format your work is how you can seal the deal. I honestly see one disadvantage. I prefer having a traditional portfolio, because I find it easier to organize. There are some advantages to having a digital portfolio, such as others having easier access to view it, and to some it looks more modern and professional. Digital portfolio doesn't really have collaboration between class mates, since its your personal portfolio of your accomplishments, though class mates could see it and offer corrections to any grammar or spelling errors you left.
