What does that mean? A worldview is a theory of the world, used for living in the world. Worldview is from the heart. (Wilkens & Stanford, 2009, Chapter 1) Worldview is experienced. What are humans? Why we are here, and what is our purpose in life? My answer would be to do well and have good morals. Help others and make a difference for someone. What are your goals for life? Life goals are to accomplish what I envision I am to do. When you make decisions about using time, I have to ask myself what are my values and priorities? Culture has a huge impact on our views. Some people accept others worldviews. I believe they can change with time and what we endure. I believe that we can strongly have a view and then in moments it can change depending on the story we hear and or see. The major tool of construction is through scripture. According to the book “Hidden Worldviews” the tools are: Wesleyan Quadrilateral: Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience. (Wilkens & Stanford, 2009, Chapter 11) I believe that we must choose carefully who is influencing our worldview decisions. It is vital to consider the motivation and sources: news sources, role models, scientific and religious organizations, employers, schools and etc. Following God’s story is very challenging and we all make mistakes regarding choices we make and thoughts we feel. The authors of this book “Hidden Worldviews” believe it is the entire person, evolving in a story like scenario involving life experiences and other story-like features.(Wilkens & Stanford, 2009, Chapter 1) Educating ourselves with the Bible is a way I think we can help our worldview.
