Happiness is a common emotion that provides a positive and lifted lifestyle. Many people think happiness is handed around, that happiness comes from a lucky draw in life, as if it was a game. However people actually choose to be happy by living and thinking in a positive way that creates happiness for them. A girl named Marie, who lived in France, went blind at a very young age because of a disease that would cause her to stay blind her entire life. What is happiness? Marketing and media have brainwashed people’s brains into believing that happiness means to have material possessions such as cars, big houses, or brand new devices. Unfortunately, this overstated fable is far from real. In fact, most people misunderstand that happiness is a choice that lies inside them. Happiness depends on the decisions of oneself. That is to say that everyone is capable of adopting a happy life with willingness and little effort. It is important to realize that true happiness is a positive attitude, a healthy life, and meaning in life.

Happiness: a mental or emotional state of well-being defined defined by positive or pleasant emotions. It is a thing many humans search for, but seem to have trouble finding. Philosopher John Stuart Mill is correct when he believes that happiness should not be a direct goal; happiness should come naturally without having to search for it.
The idea of happiness is a craving humans cannot resist. Humans see happiness as the end all be all of life, as the only thing that can fulfill their lives. It seems as if happiness is some magical state of mind that makes everything and due to that, humans come to an understanding; happiness is the one and only goal in life. The flaw with this understanding of happiness is humans do not know what happiness truly is, leaving it up for debate among the entirety of society. The concept of true happiness is simple, ignorance is bliss; for one to be truly happy, they must not comprehend anything, leaving nothing to be interpreted as positive or negative. The idea that being truly happy is the goal in life, then one would live ignorant to the world, leaving nothing to negatively affect oneself. The problem arises when living ignorant becomes a hassle intellectually and socially. Ignorance stunts growth, preventing advancement of the species. This

“Are you happy?” Is a famous question that I often hear people ask when starting conversations with others. This seems like such a simple question to answer but in reality, the idea of happiness is incredibly complex. People will probably answer yes right away when first being asked this question. Often, when being asked, people will think of how they are currently feeling. However, I believe that there are many key factors that go in to determining if someone is truly happy and what leads to a good life. I have come to the conclusion that the eudaimonic form of happiness is what will lead me to living the happiest and best life.
I think it is fair to say that everyone wants to achieve some degree of happiness. Unfortunately, happiness doesn’t happen with the snap of a finger. Many people have a hard time being happy, and many people don’t struggle with it at all. Luckily there are small things that one can do to attain a sense of happiness. Happiness, seen in the dictionary as a state of well-being and contentment, is really an experience outside of a definition. In the best attempt to define such an abstract thought, employment of multiple levels of analysis is necessary. Happiness can be seen in the pursuit of happiness, in the spectrum of happiness, and in personal happiness.
Happiness, something that everyone strives for, but not everyone achieves. Happiness is intangible, it’s a feeling. There is no pill to take, or spell that will make magically make people happy. In “ If you're happy, and you know it” by Kwame Appiah he said, Happiness is a feeling, you are happy if you think you are happy.”(449). To me that means happiness is just a state of mind. Anyone can be happy if they put themselves into that state of happiness. I personal have a hard time being in a happy state of mind all the time, dealing with school, family, having anxiety it’s difficult to stay happy.
According to the Webster dictionary, the word happiness is defined as enjoying, showing, or marked by pleasure, satisfaction, or joy. When people think of happiness, they think about having a good feeling inside. There are many types of happiness, which are expressed in many ways. Happiness is an inner state of well-being and fulfilment, and therefore it has to come from inside. Every individual has his or her own emotions and way of thinking and as a result of this no one can really say what happiness is and what happiness is not. However, universally, happiness is a by-product of a healthy attitude and viewpoint. Happiness exists in everyone whether they choose to acknowledge and believe it or not. It is not rare nor is it something only the elite have: everyone has it but not everyone recognizes it. Contentment is finding a light at the end of every dark tunnel and in order to experience this we must ignore the pessimism surrounding us and remind ourselves that happiness is not a materialistic object but a choice and frame of mind.
Happiness is a feeling that humans naturally desire. Without it, one feels incomplete. In this generation, happiness has taken on a definition by how we are presented to one another. It is measured by how much money we have, how famous we are, or the things we possess. When in reality, none of these things guarantee a happy life. Happiness is something that cannot be bought with money, but rather, it must be found, earned, sought after. Each and every one of us has our own list of things that we consider to make us happy. However, happiness shines brightest through the relationships we create, and the goals we make for ourselves to strive after. Along with these two essential sources, we then can mix and match those things in life that we enjoy to create our own unique formula for happiness.
Happiness is a feeling that cannot be broken if strong enough, no matter how much sadness or hate is around you. Happiness can come from the smallest thing, for instance, music makes me happy and can easily change my mood, or when I am doing something I love my mood is easily changed. For others it could be whenever you do something well, or right and get recognition for it. It is the easiest feeling to be spread and given out but often neglected and forgotten about which is something we should all be more aware
