When talking to almost anyone people tend to ask each other, what makes you happy? Of course, we never define happiness itself without using the word happy. Everyone desires to be happy but how can we seek something when we barely understand what it is. Happiness simply is contentment, joy, and/or pleasure. While the dictionary defines happiness as such, my personal definition of happiness is when you accept imperfections and are simply choosing to make the most of every moment of everyday with everyone around you. Everyone has their own opinion of what happiness truly is. Now that happiness has been defined, you can begin to clearly understand and ask the question of what makes someone happy. When doing a survey on happiness I asked the question of, what or whom is that one special thing, event, person, or experience that makes you happy when you think about it? The responses that I received where simply mainly centered on family relationships. While the remainder was focused on adventures and food. All these responses show that people tend to display their happiness on things or others rather than their own mood. As stated on Happify,” no amount of feeling good will be satisfying.” As mentioned earlier, people tend to center their happiness on materialist things rather than their own personal mood. One of those materialist things consist of money. Everyone has the dream of wanting everything their hearts desire or just being rich. Of course, when anyone receives money they instantly get excited because it can be used towards our desires, so why not want to feel that way all the time?
