The Benefits of Deer Hunting

“Not every trip into the woods for a hunter ends with a deer, but hunters always come home with a new story. Stories are everywhere in the wild. Some are short, others are epic, but they’re all special because they remind hunters of everything they love about deer and deer hunting” (Coburn). Hunting deer can be useful in several ways. Safe deer hunting can help control deer large population and provide food and accessories.

For instance, deer can provide multiple interesting and amazing new accessories let alone numerous different meat options. From deer hides you can make garments, handbags, gloves or shoes. You can buy accessories from deer at almost every store now since its became more popular. Additionally the meat from the deer is just as important. “From a deer depending on the size you can get 45-60 pounds of meat”(Bradford).

With the deer population growing rapidly, deer hunting is helpful for maintaining the deer population. “With 45 species there is over 30 million deer in the in the United States in 2015”(Bradford). Many people dislike deer because they often hit cars or come very close. Statistics show that there is more than 1.5 million accidents per year involved with deer. “In fact Iowa is ranked #4 in the most deer populated state”(Iowa DNR).

Certainly you may worry about deer hunting because you think it dangerous. But scientists figured out that hunting with a gun is the third safest sport when compared to 28 other popular sports. And has a lower injury rate than golf, volleyball, and tackle football. That's because all hunters before they can go out they have had to take hunters safety as well as passed that class and get their deer license. Equally important every hunter has to wear a neon orange vest hunting, so every one knows where you’re at, and that helps keep yourself and everyone else
