No one wants to see a deer struggling for its life. Hogs are taking over crops, eating everything, attacking people and also have killed a few. If hunters in the future stop hunting wildlife all together they could cause farmers’ to lose livestock crops, which can cause a huge problem for our society. They also have multiple viruses they spread which they can give them to the farmers’ livestock, which can cause the livestock count to go down. If we were to stop hunting altogether, the farmers’ crops would take a major toll, the wildlife would start eating all of their food that they are trying to provide to the humans.
From the perspective of economy, ecology, and environmental conservation, hunting is very important. Hunting is necessary to protect agriculture and the environment from animal pest or overpopulation. For example, wild boars tear up many farmers land causing many problems as well with the deer population growing eating away farmer’s resources. Also with the growth of white tail deer are damaging every landscape east of the Mississippi river. Unfortunately, the harm is very overlooked, and accepted as somehow “natural”.
For the hunters who hunt to survive, they not only hunt for the meat on the animals bones, they also hunt for the furs and pelts that the animals have. The reason hunters hunt an animal for its fur is because they can use them to trade for supplies they may need such as money, ammunition or anything they cannot make themselves. If a hunter is hunting an animal mainly for its fur, they may use a trap instead of... ... middle of paper ... ...ssic hunter with his rifle tracking an animal, but there are other hunters who use a rifle and sit in a tree stand, a chair that is attached to a tree high off the ground, or a hunting blind, a hut that precludes a hunter from being seen or smelled by nearby animals. Other forms of hunting include the use of bows and arrows. There are three types of hunting bows: the compound bow is the most common bow used today in hunting because it reduces the force to draw the string back; the second most popular bow is the crossbow, used by Daryl in the popular television show The Walking Dead, which is similar to a gun because of its body and use of a trigger but it has identical traits of other bows; the least popular bow used in hunting is the standard long bow which is the traditional bow used in some native groups of hunters because of its use in many past generations.
The intermittent deer hunting seasons guarantee the endurance of deer. In addition to continuing the deer survival, the hunting seasons help to control over-population of deer. Bucks rut to mark their territory and it is also considered mating season. The releasing of hormones/phermones.
If the deer eat all the grass, rabbits and other such herbivorous animals will diminish and kill off all of the predatory creatures that eat the rabbits. Without hunting, balance will never be maintained and the environment will never really be stable and healthy. Hunting should be done to benefit the overall population and living quality of animal species. In order to better understand hunting, we need to learn what hunting is, why hunting is beneficial, and the consequences of not hunting. We also need to know what the hunting controversy really is, the population statistics, and a few clubs that support hunters and wildlife conservation.
The meat is then donated to charitable organizations to help feed the needy (Budiansky). Some species of animals are overpopulating the areas in which they live, creating many problems to themselves and there ecosystem. Their food is becoming very scarce in some areas, and are whipping out native plants and shrubs in others. The starvation of an animal is a very slow and agonizing death for them and is quit a pathetic way for a majestic animal to perish. With overpopulation the animals are then forced into the cities in search of food and that in its self brings along many problems.
This could lead to them wondering into cities and highways causing car accidents. Without some type of deer control, they multiply. Since deer have lost some land areas due to cities growing, they do not have enough food and start to slowly starve. Thus hunting is a good choice for deer management. Coyotes and bears are a common sight in the woods.
Whitetail Hunt Whitetail deer are said to be the most commonly hunted animal in North America. Throughout history, people that have lived in America have always wanted this animal for its meat and skin. With the large increase of hunters, our government has made rules and regulations to maintain the population of the famed whitetail deer. Whitetail deer are major game for hunters today and have been a staple resource as far back as the first Indians in America, being their prominent source of meat (known as venison). Native Americans used the entire deer for survival in wilderness.
Bow hunting for whitetail deer is both a challenge and a passionate sport for me. One challenge comes when you want to hunt whitetails and cannot find a place to hunt. Every hunter has been in this position at one time or another, for whatever reason. The good news is there are places to hunt locally, if you have the patience and knowledge to do so. The areas that I want to talk about are state-owned game areas.
Since the early 2000’s, the wolf population in the northern states has become one great debate. Many want wolves to stay because of their history and significant to the Indians. The Indians believed that the wolf meant magic and brought self-reliance, endurance and keen intelligence. While many ranchers and farmers want the wolves gone. They cause their livestock to become stressed and the wolves will also kill many of the younger livestock for food.
