Hunting has been essential to man’s existence since the beginning of time. Weapons and technology have advanced in the hunting field so to have deer’s ability for survival. Deer baiting has become a hot topic of discussion in many states wildlife management areas. There are several differing opinions on deer baiting. Some people think that there are no negative effects of deer baiting and that it increases a hunters chance to harvest an animal. Others believe that it takes away from the sport of hunting and shouldn’t be allowed. As of September 2015, deer baiting is legal, but there are rules and regulations. The bait that you use to attract the deer has to be in a feeder above ground. The feed has to 100 yards from the stand. Feeding sites may not be hunted for 10 days following complete removal of all feed. This is a pro in my eyes because there are a lot of accidents caused by deer and the more we kill the fewer accidents we have.
