The Apology Socrates became unpopular for meddling in criminal activities. He says that his reputation got ruined by writers like Aristophanes, who had already written a play featuring Socrates. Socrates also told the men of Athens that the people accusing him are the wise men that he had humiliated in public. He argues that the Aristophanes’s play, “the clouds” featured him as a sophistical philosopher and therefore the minds of Athen people were corrupt while they were young.
Socrates primary message to the people of Athens is that the soul is the most important thing in one’s life. Wealthy and many wise people in the town are corrupt, and the Jury should do the justice. He says that even if he die someone will take his place, and that is a message to his accusers and the wise men who wanted him dead for meddling in their criminal business activities.

The greatest improvement of the soul as Socrates put is the doing justice to the soul, by setting free the mind from the thoughts of worldly things like honor, money, and reputation. Socrates advises the people, both old and young that health and soul should be the most important and therefore the greatest improvement of the soul is doing that is right and having virtues so as to get wealth rather than using corrupt ways, and thus making peace with the mind and soul.
