“I figured if I was going to be Scottish, you should be Mary, Queen of Scots. I thought the green was particularly fitting,” Loki explained as she walked over and touched the dress cautiously. “And a Queen needs accompanying jewels.” “What?” Lyndsey asked. Instead of answering, Loki put an emerald pendant around her throat. It was huge and she couldn’t even imagine where he had gotten it, but it rested perfectly to compliment the dress. As she looked down at it, he slipped an emerald ring onto her finger. “I told you that you should wear the jewels of the princess that you are,” Loki said softly as he kissed her knuckles. “Where did you get these? Making sure that the cloak was around Lyndsey’s shoulders and then pulled a blanket up over her lap, then he motioned for the driver to go. It was almost magical to trot through the streets of Chicago, people looking at them as if they were royalty. Not something that she would want to do all the time, but for that night it was amazing. While there were limousines in front of the museum, none of them really compared to the carriage as Lyndsey and Loki made their way inside with the rest of the guests. The inside the museum was decorated beautifully, tinsel and garland and ornaments. While most the exhibits were closed, the main room where the dance was being held had tables filled with food and drink, a band playing music, and a spot on the floor cleared for dancing. There quite a few other people there, some dressed in ball gowns like herself, at least three Cleopatra’s, and a number of other historical figures. Lyndsey didn’t think she was being conceited when she said that her and Loki were the most striking couple there.
