The Room is considered one of the worst movies ever produced, and this is true in many aspects. Tommy Wiseau, who is the rhetor of this movie, was criticized for numerous crucial errors in the plot. One error in this movie is the way Wiseau establishes the friendship among the male characters. Wiseau settles to use football in order for the audience to understand their friendship. Moreover, the purpose of football is to portray the closeness between Johnny and Mark as it is important in leading to the plot’s key conflict. Nevertheless, Wiseau’s implementations of football into the plot is responsible for the movie’s “badness.” For instance, the male characters arrive at Johnny’s house wearing formal suits in preparation for Johnny’s wedding. …show more content…

The plots is inconsistent throughout the movie. The main conflict of the movie is that Lisa is Johnny’s fiancée, but she suddenly becomes weary of their relationship. Then, she cheats on Johnny and engaged in a relationship with Mark, Johnny’s best friend. There is one scene in the movie when Lisa is talking to her mother about her change of heart, and Lisa’ mother mentions about her breast cancer test result. Nevertheless, this conversation is never mentioned again later in the movie nor is it crucial to the story’s main conflict. Additionally, the appearance of the psychologist Peter leads to the climax in which Lisa’s cheating secret is going to be exposed to Johnny. However, the Peter character has disappeared towards the climax of the film. Then, a new character named Steven is introduced, but his purpose in the plot is similar to that of Peter. This inconsistency creates confusions among the audience because the plot is about to reach the climax, and suddenly a character is replaced. Thus, the error is responsible for landing the movie a spot in the ranking for the worst movies ever
