Two lovers who are nemeses have fallen deeply in love with each other. In the play,” The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,” Shakespeare describes the feud between two families with multiple plot twists. He compares how the young generation and older generation both act on their words and how the young generation are scourge while the old generation are more stern. Shakespeare discusses how the young generation are more scourge than the older generation. The conflicts they cause include sword fights between each other. While in the streets, Benvolio and Tybalt greet each by saying,” Turn thee, Benvolio, look upon thy death/I do but keep the peace: put up thy sword”(1.1.64). This can be resembled when Romeo and Juliet married after the dance. Friar helps them marry by saying,” For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone/Till holy church incorporate two in one”(2.6.36). These two lovers making this decision after meeting show the way the young generation act. The advancement made by the lovers can lead to more deaths because there can be different thoughts the next day and they hate each other. Lord Capulet also makes decisions without second thoughts. This is true when he sets up a marriage for Juliet with Paris. During the night Lord Capulet and Paris state,” Sir Paris, I will make a desperate tender/Of my child's love. I think she will be ruled/But, soft! what day is this/A' Thursday let it be- a' Thursday, tell her”(3.4.12-13;20). While the Nurse knows about he marriage, no one else in the Capulet family knows that Juliet is married to Romeo, creating a dramatic irony. Lord Capulet’s choice to have her marry Paris without much thought and is happy about is can lead to disasters.
