Online Classes versus Traditional Classes My aim is to compare and contrast online classes with traditional face-to-face classes. While both are wonderful learning opportunities, there are several similarities and differences between the two kinds of classes. Both traditional and online classes do allow for one-on-one discussions. Instructors in both learning styles are available to help and discuss any problems the student may encounter. Also, in both classes, the instructor is available to answer questions and guide the student. The instructor acts as a mentor, as well as a teacher. All in all, both learning styles are important. It depends on what the student is more comfortable with and what works with his home, family and work schedules, as well as, his location accessibility. Even though, traditional seems to be the preferred choice for most students, more and more people are beginning to go the online route. The problematic areas of feedback issues, time management allotment, and personal classroom discussions are only problems if the students allows them to become that. When deciding between online classes versus traditional classes, remember that the question is not one of which is less stressful, or easier, but it’s a matter of personal preference and learning style.
