I've been volunteering at Family Community Chruch since the begining of September. Family community church offers a program called "encounter" where adults ranging from 18-37 come together to connect on multiple levels. Many come to meet Jesus, and many also come for inspirational words and fellowship among peers. It's a great getaway to forget life's stresses for an hour or two no matter what brings you there. I have attended collectivly for 2 years, and as a Christian I wanted to get more involved in leadingership. This church is run entirely by volunteers with a few exceptions. Other than just the church's employees, its the people that show up to to be a part of the community that actually make it all happen. I realized the church wouldn't need volunteers if people didn't want the church. It's such a huge concept, yet so basic. I've always had a sheltered mentality that the head of a store, country, school, club, or anything had all the power to do whatever they wanted but that's so wrong! This church works for the people, that's the whole reason it's around. It would be amazing to see what our country could be capable of if it had that mentality. My services are literally 100% for the audience. The only reason what I do is even a position, is to make the experience better for the audience. It's such a weird way to think about it, I wouldn't have thought that if i never stepped out of the audience, which is what i think people need to start doing in politics as well. I remember before volunteering, I had no idea about what was going on in leadership, just letting it happen and assuming everything about it instead of actually knowing anything. I do the same thing about the country I live in. Somehow it's easier to stick to your daily routine with a blindfold on, than to stop and get educated. I then realized that is exactly our countrys issue. I kind of figured our education wasn't the best before, but going from a position of being lead, to being a leader opened my eyes. Getting involved is the only way to insure something goes right in my opinion and getting involved made me realize I needed to. I didn't step into a world of perfection and harmony like I assumed it was. Once I saw the other side, I saw that they actually needed me, and other people to be reliable pillars to hold everything
