In my classroom, there would be a few different expectations anticipated from students. They would be simple expectations that any teacher would have, since they are so simple that everyone already knows them. The expectations would be to always try your best, actively participate, follow the class rules, respect other, come prepared to class, and complete assignments by their due date. For my students’ expectations of me, that would be up to each class and I would discuss what they expect from me during the first week of school. I would try my best to hold myself to their expectations. While coming up with expectations with each other, we would also come up with our class rules and procedures. It also is individualized to every student and the behavioral issue(s) it needs to be applied to. A reason it might be bad is the student might feel discouraged because they have to have a plan for their behavior, which they thought was natural. Another reason it could be seen as a negative is the fact they could be put into an inclusion classroom and might realize that and feel like they are stupid for being accommodated.

As for the communication and behavioral expectations to students and parents/guardians, I will send home a letter at the beginning of the year. It will have a shortened version of the class rules, procedures, expectations and other school-related things. There will be a link at the bottom to my class website where they can see everything in further detail. My email will also be on the letter in case parents/guardians need to contact me. I believe an important part for me to be able to teach my students, I need to be able communicate with them and understand what their parent wants from
