In many times, teachers can help guide students into a better future. Characteristics like preparation, compassion, having and showing respect to students can make a teacher more effective.
Furthermore, teachers need proper training and the preparation because if a teacher knows the material very well and gives the students a well-written lesson plan, then the students could know about what is being taught to them. To be compassionate about what their students are dealing with outside of school. Take the time to sit down with the student and talk to them, if there is an issue. Even though, the teacher and students schedules get occupied with the amount of work that needs to get done. There is still a way to reach out to a student or teacher if one of them is determined to do it can happen. Nowadays, it is easy to communicate between them both, so there should not be an excuse about not having the proper communication. Then, respect develops more between them. The teacher gives a clear act of respect toward the teacher; therefore, the student does the same for the teacher. There should not be special treatment or anything like that at all. All of these factors mentioned are descriptions of an effective teacher and good qualities that they must express while entering into the teaching profession; that is what makes a teacher
Teachers should try to make the class as interesting as possible. If the students are interested in learning they will try harder and learn better. Teachers should be a positive influence on their student’s lives. They should not only teach them the basic subjects, but also try to make them become better people by being involved with them. Some parents don’t care how their children act and don’t try to help them overcome problems such as shyness; therefore it is left up to the teacher to help these students. This is where the teacher should become a friend and role model for the students.
One question that we are faced is what does quality teaching look like. The way in which a teacher approaches the classroom is very important to look at. It is known to us that the most important factor in the school setting is the teacher. (PowerPoint professional) A teacher must be able to use the different educational philosophes that we learned during the duration of this semester. They can have students to learn by doing. This is a pragmatism approach to things. Or they can incorporate behaviorism to their classroom. Quality teachers put out high expectations for students of all backgrounds. They must be very organized and prepared and most importantly they must know the material they are teaching. A teacher should involve students and give them the chance to get out of their seat. Teachers must create lessons for different students because all students work on a different pace. Some students might get a certain lesson better then the other and they shouldn’t have to stay working when they have already mastered it. Teacher should be able to provide all the answer...
Chapter one of Ten Traits of Highly Effective Principals opens with one of the most influential traits of what an effective principal should possess, the communication trait. To be successful in any venue in life, you must be able to communicate with people; this is especially true in the education world. Principals are responsible for communicating with people in all walks of life, parents, students, teacher, administrative office personnel and the general public, as an administrator, you must make each of these individuals feel a sense of trust and belonging while communicating with them. Principals use conversations and gesture to build confidence and open lines of communication for learning and growth.
In Jeremy Polk’s article, Traits of Effective Teachers, he mentions ten characteristics of effective teachers. Those ten traits are, “good prior academic performance, communication skills, creativity, professionalism, pedagogical knowledge, thorough and appropriate student evaluation and assessment, lifelong learning, personality, content area knowledge, and the ability to model concepts in their content area” (Polk, 2006). Polk understands that these are not the only traits that effective teachers will showcase, but it is the start to a list of highly important qualities (Polk, 2006).
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines teachers as a person or thing that teaches something. This definition is correct; teachers are people who help other people learn about all kinds of subjects and things. School teachers play a large role in a student's education; they can have a huge impact on how well a student does in school. There are many types of teachers, the most common types are strict, boring, and inspirational teachers.
There are many qualities to an outstanding educator. The most important qualities include experience, the ability to adapt classroom materials to highlight each student's abilities, incorporation of cross-curricular standards, empathy for each individual student, parental involvement, and cooperation amongst other teachers and the administration. All of these qualities also together create a positive learning environment for the students.
Of course a teacher will dedicate much time to student's academics, but a teacher can also be dependable, and have clearly defined expectations, giving students a sense of stability. Giving care to being understanding, and resolving conflicts by working together, both by modeling that with colleagues, and in interactions with
What does a teacher do? Well, besides giving out tons of papers, numerous tests, and stories that the students aren't interested in reading (or just too lazy to read), teachers are responsible for creating the future leaders of tomorrow. In today's society one may find advancement difficult without a formal education. Education is one of society's institutions that helps to infuse in our younger generation the norms, values and morals of the world we live in. Teachers lead their students on the trip to success. Have you ever wondered how you would have gotten where you are today, or how you will get where you will be tomorrow without a great instructor? According to a private pedagogical survey of sources (teachers and students), some of the main qualities of teachers should be discipline, motivation, and above all, respect. I have interviewed three teachers and three students from the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School levels.
A teacher to me, is a person who has the ability to make every child that comes through their door, feel special and important. A teacher is so much more than an instructor or an educator. Students look to them as role models, they set the standard in how to act. A teacher uses their own experiences to guide children to discover themselves in a way in which they feel secure to do so.
My academic career hasn 't been anything too amazing but the fact of where I am (in college) in life is really personally awe-inspiring. I can see myself making really bad mistake and lead down a wrong path because i didn 't have much guidance. Most of my favorite teachers come from my elementary school, most significantly was my 3rd grade teacher. Her name was Ms. Visnovsky and she was really old, but she acted like a second mother to me. The next year had Ms. Myers whose name which she shared with the horror movie villain was appropriate, but she taught me that rumors and pre-judging can misrepresent someone. Ms. Myers allowed students to call her mean and strict to scare students that joined her class and I always thought that was hilarious because she was
To be an effective teacher I believe teachers need a vast knowledge of the Australian Curriculum content and a deep understanding of the students in their classroom. It is important that teachers acquire the ability to assess students accurately to determine what they need to be taught to reach their potential. I also believe an effective teacher will use their knowledge of the students to keep them motivated and engaged, as well as maintain a positive and diverse environment that caters for all learning styles and needs. All students deserve the very best and it is up to us teachers to ensure the best is provided.
Obviously a teacher needs to be able to teach subject matter effectively to the students. However, I faithfully believe the job does not stop there. As I motioned previously, my third grade teacher was a friend to me, and this transformed my entire outlook on school and on life. Lastly, being a role model is essential for teachers since many children have a troubled home life and need to be able to look up to somebody. Furthermore, being a teacher goes beyond the children. I need to share these same qualities with my colleagues, my student’s parents, and my community as well. I wholly consider that the relationships that I surround myself in will be a key factor in my
Good pedagogy is one of the main elements that are embedded in the definition of effective teaching. There are many main components of effective teaching, exceptionally effective primary teachers are those who show all features. Pedagogical content knowledge is essential to teaching in primary settings. Teachers should have a deep knowledge of the subjects they are teaching in the national curriculum if the teacher’s knowledge does not meet a certain standard it may have a significant impact on the students’ progress. Teacher’s must also meet the inclusion needs of the national curriculum to provide effective learning opportunities to all pupils, teachers can use their pedagogical learning styles to adapt and modify the lessons if needed

My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths. Education is for everyone and it’s a right by low for all; teachers, on the other hand, should do their jobs very honestly and effectively.
