Christina Goldstein, an orthopedic surgeon located in Columbia, Missouri, has greatly impacted my life in various ways. She was involved in 2 of my 3 spine surgeries. She is educated, faithful, caring, and a woman. Amongst the surgeons practicing in the United States, a mere 19% are women, Her dedication for medicine has only furthered my interest to pursue a surgical career. Seeing such a prestige female surgeon gives me hope and drive to be as great as Christina. Prior to my most recent surgery, I was in an unexplainable amount of pain. What led her to make that decision, was her acceptance into a program at the Yale Peabody Museum. Her involvement in that program is what drew her to the study of neurobiology, which is now her intended major. That experience also allowed her to obtain scholarships and be able to work at the museum. From a time, longer than I could remember, I had always known that I wanted to have a career in the medical field. My first choice was in Obstetrics, then after a few years, it changed to Dentistry. Having outpatient surgery is awesome and won’t require overnight stays, but being admitted and having your own paradise is disguise will leave you restless and moody.
