Recommended: Ban child labor

50 percent of all slaves in the modern world are kids, so if child slavery everywhere is abolished that means there are 50 percent fewer people in slavery than there were during child slavery. So, by signing this law you are not only helping to stop child slavery, but you're helping to stop all of slavery. One reason child slavery harms the children involved in it is the horrible mental scars that stay with them through the remainder of their lives, whether they stay in slavery or not. Child slavery also really hurts a child's chances of ever making it in the outside world. Because they don't have any education, they won't be able to go to college and get a degree. Child slaves spend all day in hot, smelly workshops making bricks, weaving etc. Therefore, they have no time to play with friends or have fun. Also, since they don't have any time to have fun they forget how to have fun. This means when they come out of slavery the kids won't be able to play and laugh with other kids. Lastly, child slavery ruins a child's creativity because they are stuck doing the same thing every day for years. If you don't have any education your chances of getting a well-paying job are next to nothing, which means that the more child slaves the fewer doctors, engineers, and scientists there will be. Also, without an education and proper guidance by parents and teachers, the children will not know important life lessons like how the political system works or how to manage your money. If you had been a child slave, you wouldn't be able to vote on this bill because you wouldn't have any idea how the Durham political system worked. One great thing about school is going every day and seeing your friends which allows you to develop strong bonds that will help you throughout life. Could you imagine not having that? Well, many child slaves don't, which means they have no one to go to after slavery.
