Children were born into slavery at a young age and started to experience the hard labor. When babies were first born they were considered a slave. For instance, children were put to work at the age of 3 to 4, and from then, they could not go back to playing and having fun. The children were slowly starting to do a little work, like carrying drinking water, weeding fields, picking up trash, and helping in the kitchen. By the time they reached the ages of seven to 12, they started to work intensively. Handicapped children went to work in spinning cotton, weaving cloth, or making clothes (Digital History, 2016).
