Introduction Family plays an important role in one’s life. Parents are the main pillar that supports and build a family. They are the ones who guide and educate their child by teaching skills needed in life, how to get on and communicate with people (Charlesworth, 2000). A Family provides support mentally, emotionally and financially. However, child abuse cases are increasing over the years. Child abuse has a tremendous impact and change in a child. This issue is crucial because a child who is neglected and is not well-taken care of (physically and mentally) will develop poor self-esteem and isolate themselves away from people and their surroundings. More workshops are encouraged in school to enhance social skills and promote problem- solving methods for children who undergo child abuse. Nevertheless, parents benefited from parenting and child development skills. Parents will undergo a range of intervention methods such as counselling and psychotherapy. Professionals who are involved with children’s daily lives should be alert to any sign of abuse. Details such as the nature of the abuse, date and frequency should be gathered by the school. When an abused case is suspected, follow the reporting procedure of the school or program. Family-support programs and events such as Family Day, Carnivals, educational fieldtrips etc is an excellent way to allow families to spend quality and good bonding time together.
