During the mid to late 1700s, the colonists fought harder for their independence than ever before. Before the American Revolution started, many colonists were starting to get tired of the mother country (England) controlling every little thing they did. Any type of economic activities never benefited any of colonies, while England reaped most of the benefits through the mercantile system. Also England suffered many issued many financial problems in their own country. They felt that the colonists should also be held responsible for their debt. Citizens in the mother country paid a lot more in taxes compared to the colonists, to generate more revenue for England to help solve its financial problems (170,178). Many triangular trade routes were established, but many trading problems often occurred. Printed currency and coinage were established to help resolve trading problem, but a shortage of it caused even more problems. Along with the mercantile system that the mother country established, it ensured that any goods that were traded, along with gold and silver all went back to the mother country (133-134). One short term cause of the American Revolution was the Boston Tea Party. The cause of the Boston Tea Party was Great Britain sending tea to America and selling it there. The East India company had millions of pounds of tea still being held in their warehouses in Britain, they were trying to unload the teas quickly so they shipped millions of pounds of tea to the Boston Harbor. With the establishment of the Tea Act of 1773, all the tea that arrived were considered to be tax free, they were then sold in the colonies, which undercut the prices charged by the colonists. This was considered an example of them trying to resolve conflict with the colonists and allowing them tax them without their consent. The colonists were fed up with it, and a few of them were able to sneak on the arriving ships and dumped hundreds of pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor to show their oppression (190-191). The last short term cause of the war was the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this document was proposed by Continental Congress with the help of people such as Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. The document stated that the colonists should be free from British control and every citizen should be entitled to natural rights such as right to liberty, life, and pursuit of happiness. Great Britain didn 't agree with the demand of the colonists, so war started for the colonists to gain their independence (202-204). There were many causes for the American Revolution, and
