In order to have many career goals, you first must have a career. Plus, in today’s economy, it is not as easy to obtain high-level job positions. Once you obtain a job, though, it will provide many merits and perks. My motivation for having this as one of my top career goals is to prove my skill as a reliable worker in an ever growing job force. I take pride in the work I do and always want it to represent me in the best way it can. I do not want to be lost in the endless sea of workers, I want to stand out from everyone else. I strive to be seen as a leader and innovator, and not a follower. Obtaining a job will help me achieve all this, and it will also allow me to start to make a change in my …show more content…
No matter what you choose to do, whether it be in psychology, business, or engineering, it will change your life forever. CSU is a great place to help me decide what career path to take, and also, help me achieve the goals I set for myself. Hopefully, what I take from my experience at CSU will help me leave my mark on this world, and somehow help me make it a better place. I also look forward to achieving all my goals which seem so distant right now. Most importantly, however, I hope to inspire future generations to look to the future in awe and see all that it has to
Choosing a career path that is right for you can be the most crucial decisions you make in your life. Not only is making the right choice important for the present, but it is especially important for your future. When choosing a career it is valuable to consider things such as growth potential, monetary benefits, strengths, weaknesses, and your happiness. By doing that it will help clarify the benefits and tradeoffs for each opportunity you are given. That being said, making such a weighted decision that will impact the rest of your life can be nerve-racking, extremely scary, stressful, and outright frustrating. However, making this decision is not impossible and can become less complicated if you are given the right tools. Gathering information
Many of my friends pick their careers based on money and trade skills that they have. I am proficient in art and design, but didn’t feel like that was what I wanted to do for my career. Your career shapes a huge portion of your life. It is what you do every day, for a large portion of your life. It is what I have prepared for the past 12 or so years of my life. It is way more than just money or a skill. I wanted to do something unique, something interesting, something that would inspire me to be a better human, something that would make me feel, something that is challenging, something that helped others, and above all, something that was rewarding and made me feel fulfilled.
First of all, I want to talk about my purpose plan and go over my goals, interest, and strengths that will help me to be successful in my education a career goals. My goal is to graduate the Fire Science Academy with my Associates in Science degree in Fire Science, EMT certification, and my Minimum Standards certification. To add on to my goals, I would like to complete these three things in the two years that Valencia would like me to complete them in. My short term education goal is too graduate this program with in the time but, too also have a GPA of at least 3.5 and my long term education goal is to go back to school to achieve a bachelor’s degree. For career goals my short term goal is too talk to as many chiefs as possible at the academy to get my name out there so, when I do graduate I can hopefully get a job right away. My long term career goal is after I received a bachelor’s degree and different certification with the fire department I would
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
Many individuals are unsure of the career they want in life. Even in college students are unsure of their career path. Nevertheless, this is not the case for me. I knew what I wanted to pursue when I was sophomore in high school. I had always sung, but I was unsure that music was a career I wanted to pursue. I wanted to be an anesthesiologist because they made a respectable amount of money. I grew up pondering that money buys happiness. How could I be happy with a career that I do not adore?
The thing about interests is that it's never just one, you can at least 20 different things that you're interested in. You have to weed out the ones that you like to do the most out of those 20. You have to learn who you are and what you love. You can go to career centers and get help or use past experiences from jobs and volunteering to narrow your choices. Finding your strengths and your talents will also help you make a decision.
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
In conclusion, selecting a career is not an easy-going task. I read an article that stated “The trick is to choose something you feel passionate about. What inspires you?” In today society choosing a career requires a lot more than that. Professional employment agents, college advisors, guidance counselors, networking research the job market, Internship and more; remember this is your life.
Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. Imagine being stuck in a dead end job and having to go to work every morning and dreading it. That is no spending oneÕs time and life is too short to work 35 years and be unhappy with it. If a person likes the job they do then it is not work, because finding satisfaction out of a job can bring great happiness. That information has enabled me to make the decision of choosing my area of study and career in the field of Information Technology.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” This is the principle that I follow throughout my life. I have always aspired to choose a career that would mean work that really simulates me and holds a natural appeal for me. Advances in Computer and Information Technology over the past few decades have brought about revolution in science, medicine, education, business, and entertainment. I wish to be part of the future revolution and that is why I want to study Computer Science.

It has been my craving in every aspect of life to do things differently, chart my own path and tread in to uncharted territory. Nine years back, this what made me join a course in bachelor of marine engineering at MERI, the only institute in India exclusively offering such a course. Idea of venturing in to high sees, braving the storms with only handful of resources and almost completely cut off from out side world made adrenaline pumping in to my veins. All this along with opportunity to get exposure to highly sophisticated systems on board ships, which was fodder for my technical bent of mind seemed perfect for my adventure seeking personality. Through out my career progression I have made such decisions like joining LNG shipping pool of my company and seeking extra professional qualification of eligibility to sail on diesel engine driven as well as turbine driven ships
