Mail in the work environment often offers administrative services, and ways we can highlight the different services are by seeing them as either internal or external services. Incoming mail (mail coming to the company), is often dealt with at 4Social Work (a smaller organisation) by the administrators, rather than a large postal room in larger organisations. Internal mail is slightly different as it still is still addressed to the company, however it is mail from one worker to another, who may be in different locations (different region or country). Reason being why there are two different needs for mail services are the factors that affect the mail being received or being sent. The royal mail is the postal service that all companies would use. However, postage and delivery rates are often subject to changes and this therefore affects the cost, speed and convenience of the delivery itself. The royal mail also has issues when concerning the size and weight of the parcels, (sometimes there are limitations regarding these factors or extra costs), whereas Courier services can deliver hefty or large items or packages, and may offer same day delivery for urgent mail. For cost effectiveness, speed and convenience, couriers seem to offer more benefits to a company’s mail system. With security, couriers have a less likely chance of the package going missing in comparison to the royal mail. But, even though there is a likely chance of mail going missing, if you pay for different deliveries in the Royal mail, if a package goes missing you are likely able to claim compensation (e.g. Special delivery, recorded signed for, First class). However, with all this expense and the uncertainty of a parcels arrival, courier systems seem to prove the most
