According to statistics on bullying, over half of young people have been bullied online and about the same amount have engaged in bullying through this platform (Source C). All incidents that involve a person being regularly and purposely harmed whether physically or psychologically is bullying (Source D) and it seems to be a growing problem in schools nowadays. Some people believe that bullying is a big problem but some also believe that it isn’t that dire. However, these incidents can cause huge problems in students, resulting in negative consequences for both the victim and the bully. If a student gets picked on, the other student probably didn’t mean it and they were just joking about it. However, bullying is not a joke. Bullying can start through a chain since most bullies were victims of bullying themselves (Source B). If bullying isn’t stopped, the list of bullies will only get longer and there will just be more victims. People may think that bullying doesn’t really affect the victim’s life because incidents that involve bullying aren’t always that bad. However, statistics show, “It can lead to anxiety, depression, and even suicide. Also, once things are circulated on the Internet, they may never disappear, resurfacing at later times to renew the pain of cyberbullying” (Source C). For those who think that bullying doesn’t do much impact on the victims of it, they should consider the thoughts and feelings of those who have been bullied. Those who have been bullied understand the pain of it and it is not fair for their feelings to be invalidated just because some believe that the consequences of it are not serious.
