Introduction/Conclusion
The Satirist, Robert Harris wrote a series of quotes called the “The Purpose and Method of Satire”, I say that they fully explain the true meanings behind what the Satirist is really trying to announce in their piece. Robert Harris says “The best satire does not seek to do harm or damage by its ridicule, unless we speak of damage to the structure of vice, but rather it seeks to create a shock of recognition and to make vice repulsive so that the vice will be expunged from the person or society under attack or from the person or society intended to benefit by the attack (regardless of who is the immediate object of attack).” I say this really speaks an imperative …show more content…

By writing “Bon Qui Qui at Burger King,” she expressed many elements of Satire in her writing. For example, In paragraphs _#Lines 1-8. The satirist, uses the satiric element of hyperbole when he says “Girl I will cut him. Girl yes I will, remember last time alright when he had said he didn't hook up with Tracy...”. Next, the satirist writes, “Welcome to King Burger, where we could do it your way...but don't get crazy._” and applies the element of sarcasm. The writer’s is criticizing how employees at fast food places likes McDonalds or Burger King may act. This attempt is supported by Harris’s view that “Ideally, of course, the satirist would like to see a return to the practice of morality which he feels has been abandoned by society; but he is aware that not only to stop the decay of civilization but also to reverse the trend of decay and to move toward a true moral progress is almost a futile attempt, because it calls for a complete moral regeneration of man, and such a regeneration is virtually impossible. ” because the Satirist sees the corruption in the society worsening progressively. The skit portrays a trashy ghetto girl that has an insubordinate attitude towards all the customers. She symbolizes as an uneducated works at Burger King who is ignorant so it gets worse and worse.. Because full reestablishment of a humanity is nearly impossible. The satirists highlights the points in the skit to educate the watchers and readers to prevent our humanity and life morals from falling into disrepair.
