Personality Assessment Introduction I found the test results of the Big Five personality assessment to be an interesting and a very accurate description of myself. After completing this assessment, I was able to analyze my personality in depth. I found this information to be helpful knowledge and provide insight about myself, as well as being crucial in examining my personality traits. The big five is also referred to the OCEAN model of personality, and stands for the main traits used to describe personalities. This acronym stands for openness to experience/intellect, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. I like to think that I am fun loving and I know I am very sociable, talkative, and energetic. I get energized by being with others, and I love going to parties or any type of social gathering/places with large amounts of people. I discovered that extroverts tend to have positive moods that enable contextual performance because they are perceived as more empathetic, and are more likely to create a stronger network of close relationships (Palaiou & Furnham, 2014). A personal example that relates extraversion to networking in my own life, is how I was able to make connections and know the right people before going to Italy. My extraverted personality led to me talking to the Italian exchange students, because I noticed nobody else ever talked to them. I thought it would be so intriguing to get to know them, and it turned out in my favor when they reciprocated the kindness by showing me their beautiful country. I was able to see and experience many things normal tourists wouldn’t. One last example to prove the Big Five was accurate at rating my extraversion, is how I honestly find myself at ease in large crowds. My strengths would be extraversion and conscientiousness. I definitely find my extraversion as a strength, because it helps me network with ease. Also, it is a strength because some research has revealed that extraversion has some impact on academic performance, and is likely due to higher rates of extraverts participating actively in class (Dumfart & Neubauer, 2016). My other strength, conscientiousness, is valued for being a major predictor of positive academic performance. School is the most important thing to me other than my family, and my conscientiousness really comes into play is regards of my school work. I find myself to have a strong drive for achievement, and I possess the self-discipline that’s necessary for me to flourish. For example, in high-school I would study so diligently and thoroughly that I had straight A’s for almost three years
