I am someone who is introverted which explains why I scored so high under the intrapersonal learning style. Being an intrapersonal learner is described as someone who studies alone, sets goals, self-manages, and self-reflects. I also scored very high under Interpersonal learning style which is a learning style that involves social interaction and understanding people and their motives, emotions, perspectives, and moods. Although this would not fit in with my introverted self, I am a very observant person; I seek to understand people and their views and feelings which fits with the Feelings aspect in my ISFJ personality. Some of my identifiable strengths as a learner would be my time management, and planning.
I believe that leadership evolves from those people who are willing to learn, grow and develop from those who participate in their vision. I also believe that the people I interact with can help to define some of my values. As a leader we are allowed to lead because those we lead allow us to do so. Just as we can be given authority in management, but we must earn the respect from those we lead. Leaders should possess values t... ... middle of paper ... ...thers.
Another base for a strong leadership is to bring out all the capabilities of your people by making them enjoy the team spirit. A good leader should seek responsibility and take responsibility for his actions. Also the leader should ensure that the tasks given are u... ... middle of paper ... ...itive attitude At last all the leaders should have a positive attitude towards their people and work. Also positive communication should be kept as it helps to create loyalty and mutual exchange of ideas and attitudes. For me leadership means more than just being called a leader.
These behavioral traits are essential in being a successful leader. Organizations need leaders that can work with their employees, build team work and be open to new ideas, (Lawler, 2003). In order for progress to be made, employees need to believe in their leader, and in turn, the leader needs to believe in their employees. Trust is obtained through mutual respect, building that bond of commitment to insure organizational success, (Lawler, 2003). The employees will follow a leader that promotes a positive attitude and enjoys expressing their ideas and stories.
Loyalty is also very important to me in the work center. Knowing that you are devoted and committed to the success of the organization will motivate your people to do the same. They also need to know that they can come to you with a problem whether it is personal or work related. This will allow them to be more open to bringing problems to your attention that could later have a disastrous effect on the organization in the future. Being conscientious of my own self, it can play a huge role in creating change. Understanding who I am and what I can do is an important individual value within the Social Change Model. Knowing my strengths and the strengths of my fellow members, we can come together to reach our common
Being my agreeable self, I agree with this assessment. I have a natural affinity for empathy and sympathizing with others. 5) In Neuroticism I ranked at 37% - generally relaxed. This is also accurate. I would probably rank lower if it weren’t for being a worry wart, which is linked to my high conscientiousness.
The factor relates to intellect, openness to new ideas, cultural interests, educational aptitude and creativity as well as an interest in varied sensory and cognitive experiences. People with a high openness to experience have broad interests, are liberal and like novelty. The preservers with low openness to experience are conventional, conservative and prefer familiarity (Howard & Howard, 1995). Agreeableness The agreeableness linked to altruism, nurturance, caring and emotional support versus competitiveness, hostility, indifference, self-centeredness, spitefulness and jealousy (Howard & Howard, 1995). Conscientiousness Conscientiousness is a measure of goal-directed behavior and amount of control over impulses.
This includes the “Big 30” and the “MOTIV” tests. On the “Big 30” test, I was given multiple scores for quite a few different traits. A few of the traits that I tested high in were sociability, vulnerability, cautiousness, altruism. This means that I am friendly, selfless, controlled, and, at times, a little helpless. The traits that I tested low in were intellect, imagination, and aggressiveness, meaning I am non-analytic, realistic, and uncompetitive.
