Big Brothers Big Sisters is important to me because of its positive psychological impacts for each individual. I personally agree that Big Brothers Big Sisters will positively impact each individual involved in the program psychologically. Through the research, I learn that BBBS stresses the importance of human behavior, learning, perception, and emotion for each individual. This pertains to my Psychology 100 class in so many ways because I am able to better understand the concepts behind the psychological impacts that BBBS has to offer. As a former mentor of the program, I can say that BBBS impacts an individual’s life immensely. The human behavioral impact that BBBS gives to each individual is incredible! I am surprised that just being a mentor could give a child higher aspirations for educational success and promote good human behavior. I think that its educational, social and emotional impacts are so beneficial to every individual, including the community. In addition, I wholeheartedly agree with the surveys taken on BBBS for its motivation. The motivation that the program creates for all members are so impactful. It creates such motivation for every individual in which members look forward to attending the program. Not only does the motivation keeps members from attending but I feel that it impacts them in a remarkable way. This is because the program motivates every individual in the long run; in which it motivates one to be successful in the future. I have such a better understanding of motivation and how motivation is important for the learning process.
