Everyone has heard of the famed story of Amelia Earhart’s world round flight that ceased when her plane mysteriously disappeared. For years people all over the world attempted to fathom how such a phenomenon Some blamed a region of the ocean between Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Bermuda Island that holds a reputation for allegedly sinking ships and planes. However, is this legend really a mystery, or just a myth? The Bermuda Triangle is a creation of our imaginations because the area does not display traits other parts of the ocean do not, every disappearance happened for a logical reason, and ships and airplanes often disappear all over the ocean.

There have been hundreds of strange anomalies that were reported in the triangle. When discussing the U.S.S Cyclops, the ship did have problems that could have caused a sinking; however, the Cyclops was built with the ability to send distress signals in such situations, and none were ever received. Despite this, quickly sinking ships sometimes are unable to send a distress signal in that small amount of time. Moreover, with so many issues with the ship, it could have been possible for the technology to send a distress signal to have stopped working as well. Though this is true, researchers refuse to overlook a report by Christopher Columbus during his journey to India during the thirteenth century. Based on his coordinates, while passing through the Bermuda Triangle region Columbus claimed to have a malfunctioning compass and that he witnessed strange occurrences. This provides evidence supporting that the region displayed paranormal traits centuries ago as well. Although some people believe that Charles Berlitz’s theory of the mythical city of Atlantis sinking ships and planes, a majority of Americans do not. In fact, based on a study by Chapman University, 60% of the nation believes that Atlantis is real. Yet, the fact remains that there is no evidence other than the imagination of Americans that proves the existence of Atlantis.
